What does it really look like to build a sustainable practice in photography today?
In this lecture-style webinar, Sasha Wolf will use well-known photographers as case studies to examine how careers actually unfold over time—slowly, unevenly, and often far from the spotlight. Rather than focusing on trends or quick visibility, she'll discuss the value of longevity: keeping your head down, developing work with depth, and making decisions that support a decades-long practice.
Through examples drawn from contemporary and recent photographic history, Wolf will share the evolving role of gallery representation, the lasting importance of photobook publishing, and why community and meaningful networking remain essential. Additionally, she'll share strategies for pacing yourself, staying in the conversation, and building a career that lasts.

Additionally, Sasha is the Founder and Executive Director of the PhotoWork Foundation, a nonprofit foundation established to provide arts-education and mentorship to photographic artists, working in the post-documentary tradition. Sasha’s book, PhotoWork: Forty Photographers on Process and Practice, was published by Aperture in Fall 2019.
